Mindful Fridays

Phone-Free Fragrance Nights

One slow Friday evening in the studio. Phones go in a basket, the fragrance library comes out, and two hours later you walk out having made something entirely your own.

One Friday, one price. Perfume or cologne, same table, everyone welcome.

The perfect way to end your busy week.

Smell is the sense most tied to memory, and building a fragrance by hand is a slower, more deliberate kind of relaxation than most people expect. Settle in at a table full of people doing the same beside you, BYOB, and let two hours go by with nothing on your mind but scent. No experience needed, and no wrong way to do it. Just enjoy the moment.

Seven o'clock

You put the phone down

We have a basket by the door, and we kindly ask you to use it. What follows is two hours where nothing pings and nobody needs an answer from you. If you've had the week most people have had by Friday, that is most of the point.

Half past seven

Your nose takes over

Fragrance is unforgiving of a wandering mind. Fifty-plus notes are laid out in front of you, and blending them demands your full attention, one drop at a time. You stop narrating your week somewhere around the third note, and come back to yourself without ever deciding to.

You walk out with two bottles

Two finished 15ml travel bottles, two unique scents you love, labeled and capped by your own hand, plus the worksheet to remake either one whenever you like.

Perfume&Cologne· side by side

Every Friday, we set our large worktables up with a variety of fragrances for both perfume and cologne, so it’s no worries: everyone is equally welcome, whether you came for perfume, cologne, or you’re honestly not sure yet. Every fragrance note is available at either table, run by the same instructor, at the same two hours. Come with a friend or a date who wants the other one, and you’ll be sitting right beside each other.

Good to know

What will we make?
Two finished 15ml travel bottles, two unique scents you love, from a library of 50+ fragrance notes: floral, woody, fresh, gourmand, and more. Perfume or cologne, the notes are the same table; the name just tells us which session to seat you at.
Is this only for perfume, or can men come too?
Both, always. Intro to Cologne runs at the exact same table, same time, same instructor. Booking Mindful Fridays means picking whichever name fits, and everyone ends up sitting together either way.
Do I need any experience?
No. Most people at the table are first-timers, and someone is there to guide you the whole two hours.
What is included?
The full fragrance library, pipettes, beakers, dilutant, two 15ml travel bottles, and blending worksheets so either scent can be remade later. All equipment is provided for use during the workshop.
Can I bring a drink?
Yes. BYOB, bring whatever you like.
Can I come alone?
Most people do. You will not be the only one.
What if I need to reschedule?
We do not issue refunds, so please double-check your calendar first. Email mixedchicago@gmail.com at least 72 hours before your Friday and we will move you to another available session within 3 weeks.
Where is it?
